Five Things To Remember On Nov. 6

1. Pope Francis has named Bishop Salvatore R. Matano, bishop of Burlington, Vermont, as bishop of the Diocese of Rochester, New York. Bishop Matano succeeds Bishop Matthew H. Clark, who retired in September 2012.

2. Remember: the USCCB Fall General Assembly is in Baltimore Nov. 11-14. For all the details on the meeting, visit the General Assembly page and follow along in the social media conversation with #USCCB13.

3. Wonder how someone arrives at deciding to a military chaplain? Read Deacon Christopher Christiansen's blog today about combining service to God and country.

4. On November 10 and 11, Catholic parishioners across the United States will have an opportunity to contribute to the Archdiocese for the Military Services in a new triennial national collection that coincides with the observance of Veterans Day.

5. God loves you.
